About Pradeep Rawal and Financial Nirvana
Who writes this site, why it exists, how it is funded, and the limits of what it offers.
Background
I have spent more than 15 years in personal finance and Indian stock markets: as an investor and trader, as a teacher, and as a builder of the tools I wanted to use myself, such as option analytics, backtesting engines that replay strategies minute by minute on NSE data, and risk models for position sizing. I hold the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) Series XV Research Analyst and Series VIII Equity Derivatives certifications, and I completed Blair Singer's Train the Trainer programme, presented by Success Gyan.
That mix shapes how this site is written. A good personal-finance decision is mostly arithmetic done honestly: costs, taxes, inflation, the probability of a bad outcome and what it would do to you. Most of the confusion around money in India comes from products being sold rather than explained. Financial Nirvana tries to do the explaining.
Teaching
Much of what is on this site started in a classroom. I run in-person workshops and retreats on money habits, investing and the psychology of trading, such as the Nirvana Wealth Retreat in Pune and Delhi. The questions people ask there (how much to invest, how to stop panicking in a fall, why their trading account keeps shrinking) shape which articles, calculators and games I build.
I am also the author of the book From Cubicles to Wealth Creation, launched at the Nirvana Wealth Retreat in Delhi in 2026.

Mentors and events
I keep learning. Along the way I have learned from mentors including Robert Kiyosaki and Blair Singer, and shared the stage with entrepreneurs and speakers at investor and business events.

These photos are from events I attended or spoke at. Appearing in a photo with me does not mean that a person endorses this website, its content or any product.
What you will find here
- 26 in-depth articles on investing, tax, personal finance, retirement and trading risk, each with worked examples and links to the official source (Income Tax Department, SEBI, RBI, PFRDA, NSE, AMFI).
- Calculators for SIPs, withdrawals, retirement, loans, the old vs new tax regime and position sizing, each explaining its formula.
- Learning games that simulate drawdowns, risk of ruin, averaging down and emotional trading, so the lessons are felt rather than just read.
- Original research, such as a NIFTY 50 SIP study and a backtesting case study, run on NSE data with the method published.
What this site does not do
Financial Nirvana is an education website. It does not recommend specific stocks, mutual funds, insurance policies or trades, does not offer portfolio management or tips, and does not collect money from readers for advice. Nothing here is a research report or a recommendation under SEBI regulations. Your situation, income, taxes and goals are your own; for advice that takes them into account, speak to a SEBI-registered investment adviser or a qualified tax professional.
How the site is funded
The site is free to read and is supported by display advertising (Google AdSense). Advertisers have no say in what we write, and ads are never placed to look like content. We do not use affiliate links, do not accept sponsored articles and do not earn commissions from any product mentioned.
My paid workshops and courses are run separately, through Financial Nirvana Research Academy. This website does not advertise them, and none of its articles, calculators or games is written to sell them.
Accuracy and corrections
Each article shows the date it was last reviewed. Tax and regulatory sections are checked against primary sources when rules change, for example after the Union Budget or a SEBI circular. If you spot an error, please email support@imrawal.com with the page and the correction; confirmed errors are fixed and the update is noted on the page. Read the full editorial policy.
